Motors has a long-standing history of automotive specialisation in Tasmania and commenced operations in 1910 selling Ford cars and tractors. In 1929 Motors was appointed the sole Tasmanian dealer of General Motors’ products. Since that time the business has operated under a number of owners and, for a period of time, were listed on the Hobart Stock Exchange. AP Eagers purchased Motors Group Tasmania in April 2016, bringing the brand into its stable of truck and automotive dealerships across Australia. Motors offers a wide range of quality Australian made and imported products with full service, parts and body shop repair support. Motors is the exclusive dealer of Holden, HSV, GMSV and Hyundai motor vehicles in Tasmania and also sells and services Nissan. Motors remains Tasmania’s largest motor vehicle dealer with dealerships throughout the state located at Hobart, Launceston and Devonport.
Overall Function
The Group has franchise operations in the motor industry as its principal area of business activity, which includes the selling of new and used motor vehicles; the distribution of parts and accessories; the servicing of motor vehicles; and bodyshop repair.
The Motors dealerships have consistently ranked in the top ten General Motors-Holden’s dealers nationwide and, on numerous occasions have received General Motors-Holden’s awards, including the General Motors-Holden’s Grand Masters Dealer Award.
